FAQs

What are the flowers made from?

Native from Tropical Asia to Northern Australia, sola flowers are made from the aeschynomene aspera flowering plant, also known as sola or shola- one of the lightest woods in the world. The flowers are made by shaving the plant into thin sheets, cutting out petal shapes, and hand-tying into each flower head. Most of the flowers used come from India or Thailand.

How do I store the flowers?

Wood flowers need to be stored in dry locations and should not have prolonged exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. The best containers are weatherproof.

How do I clean the flowers?

If dusty, the items can be cleared with a hand-held air dryer on the cool setting. Avoid using cleaners on the flowers as they are absorbent and may retain any odors.
